Can platonic friendship really exist?
The general notion of platonic friendship is an intimacy of friendship between a man and a woman which has no element of sex in it, BUT which is nearly as warm as love! So to put it simply, a platonic relationship is a close friendship between a man and women marked by the absence of romance or sex.
They are suppose to enjoy each other's conversation and mental tastes, but they are not supposed to give each other thrills! and each is free to love someone else. They are sufficiently interested in one another, but the element of love, or physical attraction is not there.
But there's always a problem.
What's the problem?
Here's the problem. For a good portion of us, attraction to the opposite sex is genetically “hardwired” into our psyche. There’s no way to avoid it. We find the physical form of the opposite sex attractive, the opposite sex exudes pheromones that we find attractive, even something as simple of the timbre of the voice of a member of the opposite can trigger a romantic response in us. That's why some people fall in love even if they never seen other before.
Add to that the fact that nothing makes a romantic relationship more successful then when the people involved are “friends first”, and it’s easy to see why platonic relationships can be difficult to keep strictly platonic.
But are they possible in the first place? Look around your own circle of acquaintances, you will discover many platonic relationships that are actually there.
But then again, many platonic relationships do not work well. When romantic feelings spring up in both parties, the friendship turns into a romantic relationship. But a good portion of the time only one of the friends becomes attracted to the other, and then the platonic relationship is in trouble.
Anyone who has ever been in love with someone who does not share that feeling knows the pain and frustration that comes with that situation. If the friend whose feelings have shifted towards romance can suppress or ignore those feelings, the platonic friendship can continue on as before. But often times that’s not possible and as sad and painful as it, sometimes the friendship ends.
So, can platonic relationships work? Yes they can. Romantic feelings between the sexes don't always exist, thus leaving room for a very fulfilling and lasting friendship.

Are people born in the year of monkey really unlucky this year? According to the old folks, this year is suppose to be the unluckiest year for Monkey.
Well, I don't know what to say...but it seems like this year hasn't really been a great year for me. I called Kelly just now and chat with him for a while. Realise that he and I, who are both Monkey, are going thru exactly the same stupid shit this year.
Kelly, my brother...hope next year will be better for us.

I was having dinner with Kelly and Ban. Kelly is booking in tonight, so got him out for dinner before he book in. Remembered I stated in my
previous entry that Kelly got me a Kilkenny glass? He gotten one for Ban too.
After dinner, Kelly decided that he should make his way back to camp, therefore, Ban and me decided to go for one of our favourite dessert, Hot Fudge Sundae from McDonald's. We were talking cock when he asked me,
"Ooi..you use that Kilkenny glass already??"
"Er....No wor....I run out of Kilkenny already." I told him.
"Haha, I only used it to drink water so far."
"Hahahahaha..."
"Wanna stock up?" He asked me.
"Good idea!! Hahahaha."
So we make our way to the few 7-11s around our neighbourhood trying to find one that sell Kilkenny. Sad to say none of them are selling....so we got no choice to go over to the Cheers over at Tampines Central to get it.
Hahaha....I never knew I can be this hardworking just to get a few cans of Kilkenny. But seriously speaking, after I tasted Kilkenny and fell in love with it. I think all other beer suck to the max.

I was listening to my Bon Jovi collections last night.
IN THESE ARMS
You want commitment
Take a look into these eyes
They burn with a fire, just for you now
Until the end of time
I would do anything
I’d beg, I’d steal, I’d die
To have you in these arms tonight
Baby I want you like the roses want the rain
You know I need you
Like a poet needs the pain
I would give anything
My blood my love my life
If you were in these arms tonight
I’d hold you
I’d need you
I’d get down on my knees for you
And make everything alright
If you were in these arms
I’d love you
I’d please you
I’d tell you that I’d never leave you
And love you till the end of time
If you were in these arms tonights
We stared at the sun
And we made a promise
A promise this world would never blind us
These are my words
Our words were our songs
Our songs are our prayers
These prayers keep me strong
It’s what I believe
If you were in these arms tonight
If you were in these arms tonight
I’d hold you
I’d need you
I’d get down on my knees for you
And make everything alright
If you were in these arms
I’d love you
I’d please you
I’d tell you that I’d never leave you
And love you till the end of time
If you were in these arms tonight
Your clothes are still scatteder
All over our room
This old place still smells like
Your cheap perfume
Everything here reminds me of you
And there’s nothing that I
Wouldn’t do to be in your arms
And these were our words
They keep me strong
I’d hold you
I’d need you
I’d get down on my knees for you
And make everything alright
If you were in these arms
I’d love you
I’d please you
I’d tell you that I’d never leave you
And love you till the end of time
If you were in these arms tonight

Ah Ban asked me to go Sentosa this Sunday. Sound like a good idea, sun tanning, beach soccer and volleyball, and of course with all the bikini veggies that we can beo...haha I am of course 100% game for it!!
But as usual, things don't go smoothly as planned. I have to go temple and return offerings to the Chinese Deity, "Tai Sui" on Sunday. And it's at 10 in the morning, man!!
In the beginning of the year I was drag to the temple and pray to "Tai Sui" for a good and safe year ahead because all those born in the year of Monkey clashes with "Tai Sui" this year. Therefore, it will be a very bad year for all Monkeys.
After praying to "Tai Sui" at the begining of the year to be bless with good luck and safety year ahead, you need to return your offerings at the end of the year.
I was made to do all this because I am born in the year of Monkey. Now, I was told to return offering if not there will be bad luck!! Sigh......there goes my Sunday morning. Luckily it's only morning! And to top that off....I am a Christian, I wasn't even suppose to go pray in the temple.
No no no, I did not lose my faith at all. Just that when your elders ask you to do something out of care and concern, it's very hard to reject, right? Therefore, being a nice young boy, I listened and went pray to "Tai Sui" so that they can have a peace of mind. And I will also have peace on my ears....Hahaha.
And to those close minded Christians who will object to my doings after reading my entry, I only have two words for you.
No, it's not "Forgive me", it's "Fuck Off!"

I finally got a Kilkenny glass!!! Now I am able to enjoy my Kilkenny without having to drink from the can. The taste is just so much different drinking from the glass, it's so much smoother. I have thought of a new tag line for Kilkenny. Just like Tiger beer, "Good as gold around the world" Kilkenny can be "Confirm the best beer in the world ah!" (Singlish Style!!)
I have to thank Kelly for getting the glass for me. Thanks for getting me a Castle T-Shirt as well.
Remember I said that Joey jio me out for a night of EPL action with her and Gary on Saturday night? Well, we went to this Mount E Hotel and the EPL trophy was there together with the Arsenal's fan club. Kelly was there with us as well.
It was such a crazy match!! For those who've watched will know what I mean. The match ended up in 5-4 with Arsenal winning the match. What kind of derby match was that??!! Although Arsenal continued their winning ways but their weakness in defence have totally been expose. I think Chelsea will win the title this season. Just look at their players....there's no need for me to say anything. It's a championship team!
Don't misunderstood me! I am NOT a Chelsea's fan. My heart belong to Liverpool!! You'll never walk alone!! For your information, they won 3-2 on Saturday!! Although it's not a very convincing win but I don't care. As long as Liverpool win, that's all that matters to me.
On Sunday, I was suppose to meet up with the JRM gang for singing session at Clementi but due to the late night I had on Saturday night, I didn't manage to wake up on time. I was late...I thought gugu won't be there, I was so surprise when I receive a msg from her while I was rushing my way there on a cab.
"Where the f*** are you?" Ya...as you people can see, she is a violent girl with all her foul language.
"On the way..." Actually I just got in the cab only. Haha. "On the way" can be just leaving my house, it can also be already half way there. When I am late, I like using "on the way"...kekeke.
"On the way is which part?" Hmm....so she know how my lousy excuse work.....damn.
"Er...will reach in half an hour time." Better not tell her I just got on a cab, sure kena left, right, center by her le.
And she finally passed me the chewing gums she bought for me in Hong Kong. It was in a container, sort of like a vitamin bottle. Kinda special and unique, I should take a photo of it and post it here for you guys to see.
After singing, I met up with Kelly and we went to the Motor Show at Suntec. Didn't brought my camera along but luckily Kelly brought his. Will post the photos once I download it to my PC. I will be going to the show again because I actually miss the stun show!! Damn!
Now, yesterday was a tiring and crazy day for me. I actually exercise the whole day!! I woke up at 12pm and played soccer from 1.30pm till 5pm. And there's something I just have to complain here!! Kids these days really have no balls!!
We were playing among ourselves while waiting for challengers and we saw this group of VJC students. Finally, someone for us to challenge...but guess what?
They actually run away the moment we said we want to challenge them. Wah kao....NO BALLS!!!!!!!
"Hi! Wanna play together?" My brother went into the court wanting to challenge them.
"Sorry....." They scrambled and rushed for their bags, trying to run away from us.
"What the fuck??!!" My brother was shock.
And the stupid excuse that they gave us was, "Sorry, we just had our lunch, so we cannot run...."
Come on lah....no balls to accept the challenge just say so lah, "Sorry, we got no balls...we are sissy from VJC. Our school's motto is See and Run." A bunch of Sissy!!
Anyway I finished my soccer session at 5pm and went to rest for an hour before I did something I myself also can't believe in...I gave Ban a call and jio him for a 5km run. After the run, I was totally shag out and rot my night away at home surfing net and reading books.

Wah liao...if there's one thing I cannot stand, it will be coldness!! I am so cold now, it's raining cat and dog outside and the air-con in the office is just directly above me.
Where is my Milo ger when I need her? I just love to cuddle up with her in my blanket in this kind of weather. I miss her when I was away for reservist. I think she miss me too.
How did I know? Because she keep jumping up and down when I finally got home and keep licking me like I am some ice-cream lor. She keep whining and whining until I stop doing my stuff and start playing with her.
Something happen today, the world is just so small. By the courtesy of the "Next Blog" button. I chance upon the blog of a girl name Jolynn, turn out to be that she is a friend of Nana. Haha..such a small world. Nana was surprise too when I told her what happen. Anyway, I got Nana to get me a lucky charm from one of those shrine in Japan. I heard it's quite good.
It will be a long long weekend this week, still haven't plan anything yet, except for Sunday. I will going for karaoke session with the JRM gang.
When I called gugu, she scolded me for not telling her I will be going for the karaoke session.
"You going to the karaoke session this Sunday right? Why never tell me you going?"
"The purpose of this call is to tell you lor. You going also right?" Trying to defend myself.
"See first. If I can wake up, I go."
In fact, I was hoping she go, she still owe me my chewing gums she bought from Hong Kong. BUT THEN I still owe her a Jap meal. I think she forgotten about it anyway. HAHA.
Okie, just 5 minutes ago, Joey just asked me to join her and Gary for a night of EPL action at Beach Bar tomorrow night. At least now I don't have to crack my brain on what to do tomorrow night now and I am happy about that.

I am reporting back for work tomorrow and it's a Friday for God's sake. Friday is suppose to be fun and begin look forward to, but why am I feeling a bit lousy about it. Maybe I rested too long away from work.
Hmm....why is my Romance Of The Three Kingdom not starting yet? There's no OC tonight so please don't tell me that Romance is not showing too? Is God going to deprive me of my only entertainment tonight?
Ha....I just check the newspaper. "Romance" will be showing at 11pm...haha...nothing gonna stop me from watching it.
I have been a fan of "Romance" since I was young. The first time I heard about it is when I started playing this game on Sega, it's call Romance of the Three Kingdoms III. I was so into the game that I went to library to borrowed books on it.
The "Romance" showing on channel 8 today is one of the biggest China production of all time and it is one of the most detailed version of all. It's a must watch for all "Romance" fans.
Oh....start le start le.....ciao guys!!

"No entry? What's a sign like this doing here in school and it's at the entrance of the sport complex in school." I thought to myself.
"Dae....no entry lah....never study English ah? No see the sign? Cannot going in lah, dae?" Rubber Ban turned and talked to Leo and me, trying to sound like a Indian security guard.
"Hahaha....Dae, I dun understand English lah....anyway do you think we care?"
It turn out to be that there's a freshmen orientation going in the multi-purpose hall in the sport complex. Anyway no one stop us as we make our way in towards the running track.
I had a good run today. I used to hate jogging and I STILL hate it now but I saw the benefits of it, that's why I have been forcing myself to jog almost everyday..well started 2 days ago. Hahaha.
While stretching before the run, three of us were chatting about how things were when we were still freshmen in the school. Hahaha...I really miss all the fun during my poly years. Especially my first year in poly. Almost all of us had a nickname back then, and we had fun doing all kinds of shits in school. But now, we are the have-beens.....
Ban's nick was Ah Beng. How he got this Ah beng nick was...well...I think his nick tells all...he look like an Ah Beng....with his tight jeans when we first saw him in class. He once pushed Vijay the goat into the wall when all he wanted to do was just to tap his shoulder and say hi.
Leo's nick was magnet because he always attract indian girls. So when he's around and there's indian girls...we would all go, "Leo, your magnet lah." or "What's up with your magnet, man..."
Kok's nick was Cockie because sometimes he just like to crap a lot...his classic was he keep believing and saying that there's only 80 tanks in Malaysia Army. What crap man!!
Meng's nick was Bobby as in Bobby, a name for dogs. How his nick came about was a real classic. Once a lecturer was passing around the attendance list asking us to write down our Christian name if we do have any and Meng turn to me, "Ryan, I don't have any ang moh name leh."
"Don't worry. Don't have don't have lor." I told him.
When the attendance list was passed to me, I decided to play joke on him. I wrote Bobby beside his name. And it must be fate man!!! The very first name that the lecturer called was.....
"Bobby?? Please answer the question on the transparency."
The whole LT went quiet waiting for "Bobby" to stand up and answer the question. The rest of us who knew who this "Bobby" was, started laughing to ourselves and the lecturer keep calling out, "Bobby? Bobby?"
And we decided to bring this joke to a much higher and embarrass level...someone, I think it was Jeremy, started saying out loud, "Wah liao...who's the one who had such a doggy name? Bobby's for dog leh." We started laughing out loud.
In the end, the lecturer was running out of patience and said, "Bobby TXX AXX Meng, please answer the question." Meng was like shocked and stunned, all of us started laughing out really loud.
"Sia lah, Meng!! Bobby is you ah? Dog sia!!" Jeremy said out loud and all of us rolled into fits of laughter.
I was Babyface, well....because I have a boyish look.
There's still lots more, Jeremy was chipmunk, Kangkai was bee, Vijay was goat...a lot alot more..those were the days man....and I really miss it.

Why is it when people put on army green uniform, their IQ seems to drop to zero?? Most of them, I could safely assume that, at least hold a manager post or are even bosses outside. BUT WHY IT IS THAT THEY SEEM TO BEHAVE SO DIFFERENTLY WHEN THEY PUT ON THE GREEN UNIFORM COMING BACK FOR RESERVIST?
Whenever we task them to do something, they seem to have 101 different kind of excuses and questions. Sigh....most of them are mature adult with kids and family, I really couldn't understand why they behave this way. Sigh....My MTO and BSO were telling me that it is very common, ask me not to think so much, just punish the men when instruction passed down were not carry out.
Well...I just thought that most of them are mature adult who know how to think...I don't need to go all the way as to punish them...but look like I am wrong. I am wrong.

Tomorrow night I will be setting off for a short night exercise. The exercise will last all the way till next day afternoon.
If you guys did also take notice of the weather, you will see that the dark clouds will start forming at around 1 plus and it will starts to rain at around 2 to 3 plus. This means that in every 24 hours, the rain will come. Hope that the exercise will end before the rain come.
Anyway, I will be going back camp in just a short while. I think it will be better if I sleep in tonight, as I still haven't pack my stuff yet.
I think I will stop here for now, I should get ready to make my way back.
